Valiant Air Command
While visiting Florida in January to see a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch, I found a gem of an aviation museum at the Space Coast Regional Airport (https://flyspacecoast.org/space-coast-regional-airport-tix/) in Titusville. The Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum (https://www.valiantaircommand.com/) has an amazing collection of over 50 aircraft, along with a ton of aviation memorabilia and educational displays.
I was fortunate enough to tour some of the aircraft on my visit, including the C-47 "Tico Belle" (military version of the DC-3) and a B-52 cockpit section. "Tico Belle" has an amazing history; she actually dropped troops into Normandy on D-Day (June 6, 1944). She survived World War II and remained in Europe afterwards, later participating in the Berlin Airlift. She came to Valiant Air Command in 1988, and she still flies regularly, a living monument to those who served in WWII.
If you are ever in central Florida, be sure to check out the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum. You will not be disappointed. They are open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Until next time, keep looking to the sky and keep dreaming.
